Canโ€™t Fall Asleep? This DIY Pillow Spray Knocks Me Out Every Single Night

Woman in pink polka dot pajamas sets an alarm to help her fall asleep faster, then sleeps on a bed with pink and mint bedding.

Somewhere along the way, falling asleep stopped being as simple as it used to be.

Hormonal changes, night sweats, and those lovely middle-of-the-night bathroom trips can make a full night of sleep a lot harder to come by than it once was. You stumble back to bed, hoping youโ€™ll fall asleep again quicklyโ€ฆ but your brain suddenly decides itโ€™s the perfect time to start worrying about one of your grown kids, making a mental grocery list, or wondering why your shoulder has been aching all day.

So when I recently came across a โ€œpillow sprayโ€ that promised to help you fall asleep faster, I was immediately intrigued. I loved the idea of having a quick and easy way to bring calming, restful essential oils into the bedroom, but there was one problem with the particular spray I foundโ€”it was just too expensive!

But I was undaunted, because I knew I could make my own pillow spray that was just as effectiveโ€”and for a fraction of the cost. So I started experimenting and eventually came up with the effective and easy-to-make pillow spray that Iโ€™ll be sharing with all of you today! Hereโ€™s the simple recipe I came up with.

A bottle of 70% isopropyl alcohol, a small essential oil bottle for those looking to fall asleep, and a glass measuring cup filled with water are arranged on a white surface.

How to Make a DIY Pillow Spray for Better Sleep

Youโ€™ll need:

Directions:

Remove the spray top and add the alcohol and essential oils to the bottle. Fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water, then replace the spray top. Give the bottle a good shake to mix, and your pillow spray will be ready to use!

How to Use

Just before you crawl into bed, lightly spritz your pillow and bedding with your DIY Pillow Spray. I recommend gently shaking the bottle before each use, as the ingredients will tend to separate over time.

Give the spray a few seconds to evaporate (it shouldnโ€™t take long because of the alcohol), then hop in bed and lay your weary head to rest. Take a few deep, relaxing breaths, let the restful aroma work its magic, and youโ€™ll be drifting off to dreamland before you know it.

Why I Love This Pillow Spray

Iโ€™ve struggled with sleep off and on for years, and Iโ€™ve tried just about everything to fix itโ€”including sleeping pills. While they certainly knocked me out, I hated the groggy, foggy feeling the next morning. I didnโ€™t want something that forced me to sleepโ€”I wanted something that helped my body relax so sleep could come naturally.

Thatโ€™s exactly why I love using my Slumber Essential Oil Blend in this pillow spray. Itโ€™s a gentle blend of six calming oilsโ€”lavender, cedarwood, vetiver, lime, bergamot, and marjoramโ€”that work together to quiet a busy mind and create a peaceful atmosphere at bedtime. The scent is soft, cozy, and incredibly calming, which makes my bedroom feel like a place my body actually wants to relax.

OGT readers love this pillow spray as much as I do. Hereโ€™s what a few of them had to say:

โ€œIโ€™ve been using Slumber for a while now, roller and the oil too. But when I found out that I could use it to make a spray to sprinkle on my pillow to make me sleep better, I had to send for another bottle. That wonderful scent so close to my nose has been the best thing that has happened to me. Sooo satisfied. I will always have a spare bottle, so Iโ€™ll never run out of it.โ€ – Angelina C.

“Received my Slumber oil & immediately made pillow spray for my daughters. They loved it! I told them that the real test would be if their husbands liked it! And they did! I use it every night on my pillow & linens!” – Nan P.

โ€œI was SOOO pleasantly surprised!! Iโ€™ve not been a connoisseur of oils; in fact, I know very little about them. But I really do appreciate a good nightโ€™s rest. I just had to take the chance that OGT wasnโ€™t bluffing me. We use it in the diffuser in our bedroom, I have a roll-on for the bottom of my feet, and I made the concoction in my little spray bottle for my pillowcase. And yes, maโ€™am, I do sleep! Itโ€™s just a big chunk of Heaven!!โ€ – Helen A.

โ€œSlumber means sleep. I have been suffering from insomnia for months due to side effects from medication. I started taking Melatonin with disappointing results. I ordered the Slumber essential oils. I got the roller bottle and the oil to make the pillow spray. I was very surprised at the results. I go to sleep faster and sleep soundly. I did not expect it to work so well, but I was desperate to try anything at this point.โ€ – Carole S.

A Sleep Aid Thatโ€™s Ready to Use

Not much of a DIYer? There are a couple of other convenient ways to use Slumber.

As A Diffuser Blend: Add a few drops of Slumber blend to your diffuser for quick and easy sleep aromatherapy.

In A Roller Bottle: One of my favorite ways to use Slumber blend is to apply it to the bottoms of my feet at bedtime. The Slumber Blend Ready-To-Apply Roll-On is perfect for this because all you have to do is twist off the cap and swipe it on!

Slumber is currently on sale for 30% off during my Wellness Sale! But the good news doesnโ€™t stop there! If you want to try both versions of Slumber, you can grab them together in my Good Night Sleep Kit for 40% off.

Still a little skeptical about trying Slumber? It might help to know itโ€™s backed by my 100% money-back guarantee. If youโ€™re not completely satisfied for any reason, just contact me within 90 days to receive a full refund. So, thereโ€™s absolutely no risk in trying it out!
